Open Eye Figure Theatre Presents
July 12 - 14, 2018
A FUSEBOX project by Luverne Seifert
Award-winning actor Luverne Seifert writes and performs a new show that contemplates the history of America by examining the obsolete objects we can’t bring ourselves to throw away—license plates, household objects, tools, recordings, costumes, weapons, flags, plaques, tape players, and statues.
Nostalgic and surprising, GARAGE is an act of cultural archaeology that invites us to examine the deeply personal and grander themes of a country facing extraordinary challenges. Presented as an intimate work-in-progress with limited-seating in an actual garage in the Saint Anthony neighborhood of NE Minneapolis. (You'll get the exact location emailed to you when you buy your ticket.)
FUSEBOX projects are exciting, unpredictable, new works in development, created by Twin Cities artists exploring new intersections between performance, song, puppetry, dance, and visual art.
Audiences are an important part of the process! Performances of these new works give artists an opportunity to interact with audiences and refine their productions based on audience feedback.
