Open Eye Figure Theatre Presents

JOHN TRAIN

December 7 - 9, 2018

A FUSEBOX project by Annie Enneking

This deliciously repellent comedy imagines a Neil-Diamond-esque ex-CIA operative breaking down before his final concert. JOHN TRAIN is about being haunted and having stories to tell, wishing you didn’t have them, yet being compelled to tell them.

Annie Enneking is an actor, dancer, fight choreographer, musician, songwriter and front woman for her popular rock band Annie and the Bang Bang. For FUSEBOX, Annie will work in collaboration with sound designer/performer Sean Healy. Enneking anticipates using the residency to script text and write songs that she says “expose and investigate sleaze, slick fame, covert and overt violence, using the trope of the singer-songwriter to weave monologues throughout a set-list, to make a bleak comedy about a faded entertainer as the bloated killer of culture.”

FUSEBOX projects are exciting, unpredictable, new works in development, created by Twin Cities artists exploring new intersections between performance, song, puppetry, dance, and visual art.

Audiences are an important part of the process! Sharing these new works-in-progress give artists an opportunity to interact with audiences and refine their productions based on audience feedback.
