Night Shade Presents
ORDER OF WOLF
Visiting from Portland, OR!
JULY 15, 2019
Sarah Frechette & Jason Thibodeaux, members of the Portland OR artists' collective Night Shade, bring their creepy, fascinating style of puppetry to Open Eye!
ORDER OF WOLF is a shadowy story of an obsessive lust for knowledge and power. After witnessing an ancient blood ritual performed between men and wolves, a young boy uses a ceremonial book to try and save his father's soul; and almost loses his own. Night Shade illuminates multiple layers of imagery that unfold out of the pages of a hand made pop-up book and flow across the large shadow screen like film.
OPENER: MR BONETANGLES!
Will Schutze (Mr. Bonetangles) began his career in puppetry at the State Fair of Texas where continued working with his mentor, John Hardman, for seven years until the time of Hardman’s passing. Will still carries on John Hardman’s ‘Scrooge’ show in Dallas, TX — a 45 year holiday tradition created by his teacher. Will’s puppetry was featured in the 2014 movie, ‘Chef’ directed by Jon Favreau. In addition to creating and performing his puppets, Will is also a music producer/composer incorporating his music and lyrics into his puppet shows.
