Many people tell me: You should write a book. Here it comes, but not on paper, on stage! More storyteller than writer, I resisted writing – too much computer time! I feel most alive and at ease telling stories, like I did at Patrick's Cabaret over the years. Voila: “A Few Tales, Faerie and Otherwise.” Me on stage, telling stories, my most at-home mode, honed over decades of hosting the cabaret.

The structure of “A Few Tales…” is based on TV's "Jeopardy." My audience chooses among 6 categories, with 6 choices in each category to determine the evening’s stories. The 6 categories: Resisting, Making Art, Being Gay & HIV+, Being Naked, Creating Spaces, and Wandering. The choices — 6 decades: 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s. Where better to launch this evening-length adventure than Open Eye's theatre — home to me and my cabaret for a decade! The stories are sure to be enhanced by the history and sweet intimacy of this space.

I’ve been called a provocateur, free speech champion, impresario, raconteur, choreographer, performance artist, orator, storyteller, pioneer. And activist. I’ll be onstage telling these personal stories, and more!
