MIGRACIONES

An international collaboration by Paradox Teatro!

Created by Sofia Padilla (Mexico City) and Davey T Steinman (Pittsburg)

In light of expanding border walls around the globe, MIGRACIONES follows the voyage of refugees as they travel on legs, wings, and dreams in search of a new home. July 26: Renée Copeland

Renée Copeland is a poet, musician, singer-songwriter, dancer and choreographer. She combines her passions to produce soundscapes for live dance performances as well as performing her soul/folk sound solo and within Twin Cities musical collaborations. Playing the acoustic and sometimes electric guitar, while singing sultry notes, her songs hold themes of both personal and political nature, always bending toward compassion and justice. Listen.

July 25, 27 - 28- Leonor Guelbenzu.jpg

July 25, 27 - 28: Leonor Guelbenzu

Leonoris Causa is a contemporary singer songwriter from Madrid, Spain. The poetic, musical universe of Leonoris Causa is urban, sober and multi-sound. The intensity of her songs and the quality of her voice make each one of her compositions a small catharsis in which the invisible takes a sonorous form. Leonor connects with the public at an emotional level thanks to her dynamic and expressive performance. Leonor mixes classical guitar with spanish roots, world music and the spoken word. Leonor received classical training at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. As a solo artist she has played her original music at different venues such as Libertad 8, Zanzibar, La Leyenda Rock Bar, Figaro Café and Calvario Bar in Madrid. In 2018, she travelled to the US for the first time and had the chance to perform in Minneapolis in venues such as Black Dog Café, Q.2 Gallery and Jazz Central Studios. Learn more.

For SWEET SONGS, she’ll be playing original songs in Spanish with a Spanish guitar. Her style mixes classical music, Spanish roots, world music and spoken word.
