In 18 years, Open Eye has grown into a unique and beloved neighborhood organization that enriches audiences and supports Minnesota-based artists.

As we prepare to launch our 19th amazing season, we hope you’ll join us as a supporter! Your gift truly makes a difference in helping us open eyes, hearts, and minds with our career-expanding artist residencies, concerts, and signature performances in our theatre and throughout the community.

 CONSTANCE IN THE DARKNESS

CONSTANCE IN THE DARKNESS

Audiences and artists love Open Eye! In 2018, we’ve broken box office records with our world-premiere musical CONSTANCE IN THE DARKNESS (including three extensions!); a standing-room-only run of DEAR LENNY: BERNSTEIN’S LIFE IN SONGS & LETTERS featuring Bradley Greenwald, Diana Grasselli, Prudence Johnson and Dan Chouinard; CHICKEN SHIP by beloved storytellers Kevin King and Clare Murphy; and the triumphant return of Michael Sommers’ signature puppet epic, A PRELUDE TO FAUST.

In 2019, we promise to continue to offer adventurous, professional artist-created work for you!

  • Engage in the creation of new work! Our exciting FUSEBOX residency program will launch its second year of support for emerging and established artists developing challenging new work and involving audiences as an important sounding board for advancing new pieces. This year, FUSEBOX supported artists Sally Rousse, Jeremy Wilhelm, Luverne Seifert, Michael Sommers, Joel Sass, and Annie Enneking—and we’re thrilled to soon announce our next cohort of artists in 2019!

  • Explore the mysterious town of Beldenville, Maine! We’ll unveil the much-anticipated world premiere of THE BELDENVILLE TROLL, a darkly magical new work by Joel Sass and the team who created 2017’s acclaimed film-noir fairy-tale THE RED SHOES.

  • Experience Open Eye in the community! Our nationally-lauded summer Driveway Tour will once again bring laughter and fun to neighborhoods across the Twin Cities with three amazing, affordable, family-friendly puppet shows that travel to backyards, parks and festivals throughout the Twin Cities and beyond!
