ART CRAWL and SWEET SONGS & FLYING OBJECTS

These two video compilations document examples of Open Eye Theatre’s free community programming. In 2021, we produced a 1-day outdoor “art crawl” in the Phillips Neighborhood that drew over 400 community members and involved over 25 individual artists, musicians, and DJs. In 2025, with the support of CDAF we piloted a 3-weekend festival of live music and puppetry called SWEET SONGS & FLYING OBJECTS which drew nearly 600 community members! Activities occurred outdoors on our block (or indoors in the event of rain).  It is our hope that CDAF will partner with us again in 2026 to further develop this event into an annual activity.  Goals for 2026 include cultivating outside sponsorship which will enable this to become an annual activity.
